Project Overview
Redesign of smart meter application to promote energy reduction in UK households. Based on research provided by Gengame on several types of households, I chose to study affluent but busy families with children. Following the principle of 'integration into existing life, without requiring extra effort', the design is developed in the following three aspects: encouraging children's participation, enhancing community sustainability, and providing specific action instructions. Through these designs, differentiation from other meter applications is achieved, with an expected increase in the number of user actions for sustainability, thereby reducing household energy consumption.

Wireframing: Undertook the redesign of core app screens and user flows, addressing the audit's findings. Emphasized the creation of a more intuitive and goal-oriented user journey, reducing cognitive load and enhancing the overall user experience.
High-Fidelity Prototyping: Leveraged Adobe XD to construct detailed prototypes that brought the new design to life. These prototypes featured a refined aesthetic that aligns with the motivational needs of fitness enthusiasts, showcasing the app's enhanced functionality and interactivity.
User Interface Design: Revamped the app's visual identity, incorporating vibrant colors and dynamic elements that motivate users to engage with their fitness goals actively. Carefully selected typography and iconography that resonated with the app's target demographic, ensuring the interface is not only beautiful but also functional.

[Weekly Challenges: Forming PK between Parent-Child Families in the Community, PK between Parents and Children]
By engaging children and allowing them to supervise each other through PK, it avoids increasing parental management pressure. This achieves the goal of involving children and parents in sustainable activities together. Also, by being aware of the dynamics of other families, it helps to reduce feelings of loneliness. Ultimately, it helps to enhance the atmosphere of sustainable efforts in the community.
In order to preliminarily validate the design proposal, I conducted lo-fi tests to gather user feedback. Due to time constraints, I was unable to reach the actual target families, so I sought feedback from UX classmates and teachers to aid iteration.
